  • Haz 2 2011 12:00AM - Bosphorus Rally 03 – 05 June 2011

    Turkey's oldest international motorsports event which has 39 years of history, will take place between 03-05 June 2011 in Istanbul. Route of the Bosphorus Rally will once again be consisting of smooth & fast gravel roads of Istanbul's Asian side and its neighbour city Kocaeli.

    2011 event, which is celebrating its 40th year, will be counting for European Rally Championship and Turkish Rally & Historic Rally Championships. However, this time, the base of the rally will be different. Whereas recently opened International Sabiha Gokcen Airport Hotel will welcome ERC community, the service park will also be in inside of the airport.

    Yagiz Avci will race against European competitors: The target is the leadership

    In 2010’s Bosphorus Rally, Yagiz Avci has completed the rally in the 2nd second place with a very close gap after the 1st Itallian driver. In 2011, Yagiz Avci’s target is to be in the 1st place by eliminating European competitiors.

    The team is participating with 2 Fiesta S2000 and 2 Fiesta R2 and will be competing with European and Turkish competitiors. Bosphorus Rally will be very challenging with 9 S2000 rally vehicles in the rally list.

    - 2 Fiat Grande Punto S2000 (CZE) & (TR)
    - 2 Skoda Fabia S2000 (ITA) & (TR)
    - 2 Peugeot 207 S2000 (POL) & (TR)

    Last season’s Drivers Champion Yagiz Avci and co-pilot Bahadir Gucenmez will race with S2000. The other S2000’s driver is Murat Bostanci and co-pilot’s is Onur Vatansever. R2’s drivers co-pilots are Orhan Avcioglu – Burçin Korkmaz and Emre Yurdakul– Burak Erdener. Emre Yurdakul has recovered after the accident in Aegean Rally in Izmir and will race with Fiesta R2.
